Yes Folks, lightning can strike twice in the same place, and in the case of our family it comes all too soon! Some of you may know or remember that when Corinne was almost two, she fell in a friends backyard trying to grab a rope swing and broke her left elbow on the growth plate. Well, much to our dismay, our 2 year old little Lauren fell in a friends backyard (also trying to grab a rope swing) and also broke her left elbow. Unfortunately hers was much worse than her older sister's. Laurens arm broke in two places on the growth plate as well as dislocating so severely that the bone had to be surgically repositioned and pinned in two places. Lauren, just like her sister, has been a trooper through the whole thing and has gotten quite used to her little baby pink cast. Corinne keeps asking when we are going to decorate
Lauren's cast like hers was. (I painted Corinne's cast to hide all the grunge that built up on her cast. Back when she got her cast the only other choices were flourescent pink or green so we opted for a white one.) I did end up painting Lauren's cast after we showed her Corinne's cast. She wanted lots of flowers and ladybugs. Lauren loves ladybugs!
We are very grateful that we live in a time where modern medicine and technology can do so much and we truly do feel very blessed that these things can be fixed.
(For any of you wondering, we will try to avoid any and all rope swings with the rest of our children!)
